The pine, oak, and deodar forests host an array of wildlife including Leopard, Mountain Goat, Barking Deer, Sambar, Pine Marten, Indian Hare, Red-faced Monkey, Jackal, Langur, Red Fox, and Porcupine.

Chitai Temple
The famous Temple of Chitai Almora is the Golu Devta Chitai temple, dedicated to Gollu or Goljyu Devta an Avtar (incarnation) of Lord Shiva in the form of Gaur Bhairav. The temple is situated at 9kms from Almora.
Jageshwar Temple
Jageshwar Temples, also referred to as Jageswar Temples or Jageshwar Valley Temples, are a group of over 100 Hindu temples dated between 7th and 12th century near Almora, It is situated amidst dense Deodar forest with a stream flowing at its backyard.
Kainchi Dham
It is a placed at an altitude of (1400 MT) On the Nainital - Almora Road, 9 Km from Bhowali and 17 Kms from Nainital is a modern pilgrim centre. This place has achieved recognition owing to the ashram of the famous Shri Neem Karoli Baba Maharajji.

Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore.
Ranikhet
Ranikhet is a hill station in Uttarakhand State, northern India. It’s known for its views of the Himalayas. Ranikhet is at an altitide of 1,869 m (6,132 ft) above sea level. Tourist Attraction in Ranikhet are: KRC Meuseum ,Bhalu dam, Haidakhan temple, Rani jheel Golf course.
Binsar Mahadev Temple
Amidst the thick deodar is situated the holy temple of Binsar Mahadev. Along with its divinity and spiritual ambiance, this place is famed for its impeccable nature’s beauty. Binsar Mahadev is said to have been built in 9/10th Century and thus has been an important religious place in Uttarakhand since ages. With idols of Ganesh, Har Gauri and Maheshmardini, this temple is known for its architectural finesse. The idol of Maheshmardini is engraved with texts in ‘ Nagarilipi ‘ that dates back to 9th century. The shrine is believed to be built by King Pithu in memory of his father Bindu.

If you are looking for an unique experience in the hills then I highly recommend Maakot Hills Eco Camp. Its a beautiful camp located at an amazing and offbeat location. The tents (accommodation) are spaceous and hygienic. The washrooms are clean and well maintained. The homely meals here are literally the best I have had so far in any property. Had a very delightful stay at Maakot Hills Eco Camp. The beautiful landscape view of the mountains, mesmerizing sunsets and the view of the Himalayas made my stay so unique and wonderful.
